Rich Schaefer is an award-winning cinematographer with more than 25 years of experience. By delivering stunning images across a variety of entertainment and commercial projects, Rich’s punctilious eye and valued ingenuity make him a top collaborator and creator in his craft.
Rich’s most recent film is Director Glenn Withrow’s The Last Champion and stars Cole Hauser. His other credits include Orange Sunshine, for which he received the 2019 NBFF Award for Best Cinematography, and the docuseries, Awkward Family Photos, which was featured at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.
In his commercial line of work, he recently worked with TRULY Hard Seltzer on their 2020 Super Bowl Ad. Rich has created content for many prolific brands including Neutrogena, Toyota, Microsoft, Disney, Johnson & Johnson, Hewlett Packard, Nestle, Target, and Chase. He is the recipient of two NATAS Northwest Regional Emmy Awards, achieving recognition for his outstanding work on the Suburban Auto Group Trunk Monkey campaign.
Rich’s work in the industry has allowed him to collaborate with many notable celebrities and ultra-talented creatives including Cindy Crawford, Taylor Swift, Christie Brinkley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marie Osmond, Angie Harmon, Cole Hauser, Halley Todd, Alyssa Milano, Quentin Tarantino, Melissa Joan Hart, CeeLo Green, Sabrina Carpenter, Lindsay Ellingson, Britney Spears, Van Halen, Metallica, Scorpions, MythBusters, Property Bros, Aaron Rodgers, and Simone Biles.
Rich currently resides in Southern California where he owns and operates High Impact Pictures, Inc. He is a member of the Local 600 International Cinematographers Guild.
